Hello Students,
As the Winter continues, I know many of you are heading out to play the Links. Links golf is a unique and exciting style of golf that is played on coastal terrain. It is different from the regular golf you may be used to, with hard fairways, fast greens and windy conditions. But with these tips, you will be ready to tackle the links like a pro!
First of all, remember that links courses have a lot of undulation, which means the ground is not always flat. This means that your shots may go in unexpected directions. So, when you are choosing your club and aiming your shots, make sure to take this into account.
Secondly, it's a good idea to hit your shots low. This will help them avoid the impact of the wind and keep them on track.
Thirdly think carefully about your yardages, carry distances, and the way the ball will roll on the hard fairways and greens. Links golf courses have a lot of undulation, so it is important to take that into account.
Fourthly, the rough on links courses can be thick and unforgiving, so make sure to keep your ball in the fairway as much as possible. This way, you can avoid the long dunes rough and have a better chance of making your shots.
Lastly, the greens on links courses are often firm and fast. So, practice your putting and make sure to use enough speed to get the ball to the hole. This will help you to have a better chance of making your shots on the greens.
If you want to improve your game on links courses, I recommend booking a lesson with me to discuss these tips and learn more tips about how to play on this unique terrain. It's going to be fun and challenging at the same time!
So, let's hit the links and have some fun!
