Dear students,
As we all know, hitting a golf ball out of muddy lies can be a challenging task for many players. However, with the right technique and equipment, it can be done with confidence. In this newsletter, I will share some tips and tricks to help you improve your game when playing from muddy lies.
First and foremost, it's important to have the right club in your hand. A club with less bounce such as a Hi-Toe 3 wedge is perfect for this shot as it allows you to make clean contact with the ball.
Next, make sure you're in the right stance. The ball position needs to be just back of center, with your chest bone a few inches ahead of the ball. This will help dictate the low point in the swing and prevent your weight from getting stuck on the back foot.
When it comes to the swing, focus on making a clean, solid hit and aim for a shorter follow-through. This will allow your hands to stay in front of the clubhead and get that ball-first contact.
Another tip is when the pin is cut tight or you need to fly the ball over a bunker, try a flop shot. It's a risky shot but the right club selection can help you get the desired height.
Remember, practice makes perfect and the more you play, the more confident you will be in playing from muddy lies. If you need more help or want to book a lesson with me, please feel free to reach out. I only have a few spaces left this week so please reply to book now.
